Love according to Christ

Christ didn’t destroy the law, but He did what we couldn’t – fulfilled it!  To tap in, we must believe in Him and LOVE God and one another (Galatians 5).  Jesus himself said that upon love for God and love for one another hang all the Law and the Prophets (Matt 22).

He also said that if we love Him, we obey Him. (John 14:21)

Most Christians are quick to say, “I love Jesus”.  Sounds great, until it starts hitting where it hurts.

For example, in 1 John 3:17 & 18, the Word reads:

But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

I was at Church one day and a fellow brother I was speaking to told me he was in need.  So I did what I thought any good Christian should do, and I prayed that God would meet his needs.  Later in the week, I ran across the aforementioned scripture and I sensed God saying, “You meet his need”.

I felt terrible because I had the ability to meet his need and I did not.  That next week after repenting, I started being obedient to His Word… I started loving.

I haven’t looked back since.  I have given myself next to broke helping fellow brothers and sisters.  But God has always met my needs.  If the rest of the American Church would jump on board with this truth, we would be adding to our numbers daily…

 Acts 2:44-46

Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.  So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Science vs. God

Contribution from Pastor Josh Jamison (thanks brother!)

The very definition of science is, “with knowledge”.
As long as science sticks to this facts – science is beneficial. When science steps out into the place of, “I can’t know for sure but this, is what must be true”. That is when science becomes useless and a guessing game, that will take the mind of man into a land of make believe. This is also when science ceases to be science and becomes fiction. In other words, what you can prove is science what you cannot prove is theory, or a guess, or an estimation, or imagination, or even a lie. So calling any one of these (stated things) science is an outright lie and discredits itself. What one should rather say is, “My opinion based on limited knowledge is ‘this’ and ‘thus’.

Scientifically speaking, to prove that God does not exist you need absolute knowledge. That is to say, “if you know everything there is to know in the whole universe.” Then, if at that point, you find that God does not exist. You then can say, “I know that there is not a God.” Conversely, you can know that God does exist with only partial knowledge of the universe. That is to say, “I do not know everything- but I know God exists.” So to know if God exists, I can know this, based on limited knowledge- the bible even affirms this. 1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

In conclusion, if you practice the “science” of knowing God, you do so “with knowledge” (inside your ability to know). Due to this your practice is very sound science. You practice the fact that you know God.
If you practice the “science” of not knowing God, you do so “without knowledge” (outside of your ability to absolutely know). You practice a belief based on not knowing, this is very unsound science. You practice the ‘fact’ that you do not know God, but only hope in theory that He does not exist.

DNA Proves Christ’s Body is Found!

In case you haven’t heard about the recent James Cameron-produced schism, read this first.

Science attempts to conquer and measure much of the unknown things of this world, making them known.  I applaud the effort and place mild trust in some of the findings of the art.  But as a whole, I don’t put too much faith in it as the accuracy of results over time has been less than stellar.

Don’t get me wrong – great stuff comes from science.  But deception comes from it too.  Theories become fact!  For example, evolution as a means to explaining our existence is a THEORY, not a fact.  We know evolution exists in certain forms (within a species), that is pointless to argue; but many believe that the idea of man coming from apes is hogwash… Yet the scientific community will throw a temper tantrum when someone dares question the validity of the theory.  Why?  Because they NEED this theory to be true – all their hopes are resting in it.  Otherwise, they have to rethink the philosophical impacts of a Creator…

Something is responsible for this universe, and many believe science has to be vehicle for the answer.  This tosses out the possibility of God, because we can’t measure Him… But we can observe His handiwork, as the Intelligent Design (I.D.) folks attempt to do.  Why are they (I.D.) so highly scorned by the scientific community?  As compelling observations mount supporting the Creator, patrons of the “church of evolution” are being lost - many battle-hardened generals of the evolution faith have already left the ranks for what they consider a more “logical” conclusion of intelligent design.

This is dangerous to the scientific community because if too many defect, it will force them to admit the precious scientific method doesn’t contain all of life’s answers.  It would also mean that we must admit and accept the ramifications of a higher power.

Whoa!  That would mean mankind is subjected to someone higher than ourselves, removing the title of “god” from our resume! Heaven forbid! (pun intended :)

Terror within our own borders…

Terrorism is terrible, no doubt about it.

Consider the definition of terrorism..

noun
the calculated use of violence (or threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature;

America is all about fighting terrorism.   This is a good thing.  Terror is wrong.  It preys upon the innocent who cannot help themselves.  Down with the terrorists!!!

We cry out to almighty God for justice and protection! Especially after the towers fell, people who never even went to church were on their knees. “Lord, smite thine enemy! Dash them to pieces, those murderers of the innocent! Enact revenge on these that murder our children!!”

Yet while we attempt to compel God to destroy those that kill our innocent, the United States is terrorizing its own unborn children. Talk about subtle and crafty!

1 baby every 24 seconds
147 babies every hour
107,750 every month
1.2+ million every year
47,282,923 between 1973 & 2005

These precious ones – beautiful children – gone forever at our own hands…

Let America cry out to God and repent for what we have done, lest we enact judgment upon our own heads…

2 Chronicles 7:14
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

The End…

Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple.  And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”  Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”  And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.  For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.  And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of sorrows.  “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.  And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.  Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.  And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.  But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
